Is Social Media Hurting Society?
Social media has become more prominent in today’s society. We use it as a way to get attention from others. I believe that social media has negatively affected our society. Instead of believing in yourself, you seek the approval of your peers. It should not be a competition to see who can get the most likes or followers. Although the media has its flaws, it is also a way to keep in touch with out of town relatives. Parents post pictures of their children with their accomplishments and it is a great way for others to see what is going on in their lives. I do not think that parents can always see the effect that social media has on their children. It is hard to grow up in a world that is overrun with the wants and needs to be perfect. As seen through social media, nobody wants to be themselves anymore. They see a beautiful celebrity and that is who they want to be. Overall, I think that social media has made a huge impact on our society and it is not for the better. It has made people change who they are.
