The Emmy's
2016 Emmy Awards was presented by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and this year it was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Louis McManus also made the Emmy statuette by using his wife’s image as a model.
The Emmy Awards first started in 1949, at the Hollywood Athletic Club. Only six awards were given. First award ever given was for outstanding personality went to Shirley Dinsdale for the children show “Judy Splinters”.
This year Outstanding Drama Series award went to “Game of Thrones”. Outstanding Comedy Series went to “Veep” and outstanding lead Actress went to Tatiana Maslany.
Outstanding Lead actor went to Rami Malek, outstanding writing for a drama series went to David Benioff, and outstanding television movie went to “Sherlock: The Abominable Bride”.
Red carpet arrivals were Kari Russel, Claire Danes, Connie Britton, Rami Malek, Robin Wright, Anika Rose, Natasha Lyonne, Anthony Anderson, Carly Chaikin, Kerry Washington, Tom Hiddleston, Sofia Vergara, Portia Doubleday, Live Schreiber, Chelsea Pertetti, Andy Samberg, Emmy Rossum, Jullianne Hough, and Amanda Peet.
