Cross   Country

Mooreland’s newest addition to athletics, cross country has made a run for it this year. Led by Coach Kendra Hoover the cross country team is hopeful of participating in the state contest. Some of the teams in accomplishments include: 1st at the Hennessey meet, 2nd at the Watonga meet and 4th at the Chisolm meet. The High school boys have a win loss record of 36-5. Freshman Collin McLain has proved himself this year by being undefeated in class 2A. The HS boys were bested by 2A defending state champs by only 7 points. There is 2 weeks until the state contest and many runners are striving for a state championship.

The Bearcat teams participated in the regional contest on October 15th.  Lady cats ended their season at the regional meet. The Bearcats are moving on to state and claimed the regional runner-up trophy. Collin McLain claimed the individual regional runner-up medal, and Jackson Stinnett placed 11th. The top 15 individuals and the top 3 teams will be recognized at the state meet. The state contest will be October 22nd at Shawnee, Admission is $7 per person and the boys run at 12:45. The bearcats have one more shot at redeeming themselves against 3x defending state champs, Hooker, this week at the state championship. Good luck bearcats and TAKE STATE!
